Sunday photos!

We really didn't go to CiCi's pizza on Sunday! I didn't get any pictures of Parker today and this was taken on our way home from IHC the week before last!!!

Face lift for our house!!!

We are having most of the inside of our house repainted this week and it is a complete disaster right now. The painter isn't finished and I have to live like this all weekend! YIKES! We are getting new furniture and retiring our old Navy blue couch and chairs! (We decided we needed something more kid friendly! (No more cloth and white combinations!!!)
Tonight after we got the twins in bed, Jonathan and I carried a leather couch downstairs and into our family room! Let me just say, that was quite a task and we will be feeling the effects of that in the am... I told him that couch was staying down here even if we didn't like it because there is NO WAY I am going to carry that thing back upstairs! We are ordering some additional pieces to go with it hopefully tomorrow!
Parker decided to just crash on the new couch before we even got it into place! Here are a couple of pictures of the couch that Mr. and Mrs. Muscles brought down 14 stairs!!! I think I will take some Advil and hit the hay!!!

Sleep tight!

Hallelujah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jonathan just finished his last night of school forever tonight!!! Let the Hallelujah Chorus begin... What a relief for all of us! He has been going to IUPUC two nights a week for 3 years getting his MBA! Before that, he went to Indiana Wesleyan and got his Bachelor's degree! We are so ready for him to be done and to be home in the evenings! Parker has big plans for him and daddy to play every kind of ball there is known to man. I have a few chores he can do too now that he will be home during the evening hours! Graduation day is Mother's Day night! That is a wonderful Mother's Day present for me!! (Don't anyone even mention a PhD to him! I'll come after you!!)

Congrats Jonathan!
We all love you and are very proud of you!
Love,
Karen, Parker, Peyton & Paige!

We're breaking records left and right!

Peyton has slept through the night for the past 3 nights! WOW!!! You have to understand that my kids (mainly my boys) just don't sleep! Parker only slept through the night less than 10 times during his first year of life! (We gave him a dollar for every night he slept all night that year and he didn't even get a $10.00 bill!) Paige actually started sleeping through the night at 2 months which was a total shock to us! Peyton on the other hand took after his big brother and probably only slept through the night 5 times during his first year of life too! So... three nights in a row at 15 months is a big deal!!! Also, yesterday morning Paige slept in until 10:30am! I had to go check on her and make sure she was still breathing!! We just hope we can keep up this trend! Jonathan and I haven't got to sleep through the night consistently since we had Parker in 2002! (Jonathan says now we won't be able to sleep all night for having to get up and use the bathroom ourselves!!! HA!)

Grandpa's girl...

Paige loves both of her Grandpa's!!! Yesterday, Grandma and Grandpa Walden came down and watched the kids all day. I got a quick picture of a sweet moment when Paige was sitting by her Grandpa Don on the couch.

Paige also loves her Grandpa Bob!!! At church she watches him play the piano and as soon as he walks back to his seat, she is climbing down from where ever she is at and going to sit on Grandpa Bob's lap.

Definitely rotten!

Look what I got!!!!!!!!

Jonathan decided after a month of my blogging that I needed my own laptop!! By the way, today is my one month Blog-a-versary!!! The kids still scream every time I go upstairs to get on the computer and I can only take that for so long... I usually just come downstairs due to "shot nerves!" I have been stealing Jonathan's laptop every night now to Blog so I can be "with the family!" Now I get my very own computer and can blog day and night.. The kids won't mind at all since I will be downstairs with them!!! Jonathan is trying to get it set up as I write this post but he is actually snoring! Guess I won't get to do much tomorrow until he gets home again!
By the way... we bought the 3yr accidental damage protection plan just in case we decide to crush it with a recliner!!!!!!!!!!!

Good night all!

Petrified kids...

On Saturday evening, we took our vehicle through a "Mike's carwash" in Greenwood! Peyton has always been a little afraid of them and this time he was down right petrified!!! He even made Paige scream! Parker was cracking up at them, and between the screaming, laughing and noisy carwash, Jonathan and I about went crazy... At least we had a shiny vehicle to drive to church today!

Grandpa Thompson's Birthday!!!

April is a month of birthdays for my Grandparents! Today is my Grandpa Thompson's #79th birthday! My Grandpa Thompson is alive and well and in very good health. He currently is pastoring our church and has been since 1968! He has been my only pastor as well as my kids only pastor. He dedicated me, as well as all of my kids, married Jonathan and I, took us to Israel on a 10 day tour, etc! We are fortunate to have him and Grandma living here in our town!

We hope you have a great birthday today Grandpa! We are thinking of you and will see you in the morning at "Father's house!"

Happy Birthday Grandpa Brown

Today would have been my Grandpa Brown's #83rd birthday! My Grandpa Brown passed away in September of 2004 from a quick illness. He had been out here to see us for a visit just three weeks before his death. We took pictures of him and Parker the night before he left, never dreaming that would be our last photo of him!
Mom went to Kansas to visit a couple of weeks later and the day she arrived, Grandpa was pretty sick. He just blew it off as a really bad cold but went to the Dr shortly after Mom arrived. I am sure he nor anyone else ever dreamed that when he left his house that afternoon, he would never be back. His doctor sent him straight to the hospital and he was admitted with Pneumonia. He seemed to progressivly get worse despite treatment and ended up having to be placed on the ventilator. Mom and my Aunt Carol were very faithful to stay at the hospital with Grandpa during this time. Mom was so thankful that she just happened to be out there for a planned visit. Grandpa's illness developed into ARDS and he was on the ventilator for 10 days. The morning that the doctor's had told my mom and Aunt that they had a decision to make, Grandpa made it for them! He decided he would rather go see Grandma and Jesus and peacefully went to Heaven.
We were so fortunate to have our entire family there with him the weekend before his death. Grandpa squeezed mine and my brother's hand when we were leaving to "reassure" us that he knew we were there!! I will never forget that squeeze!
Like my Grandma Brown, I have many found memories of my Grandpa too! He would tease me about boys, lay a big kiss on me when he walked in the door from Kansas, put hot mustard on my retainer, made the best homemade ice cream ever, always would testify at our church when he came to visit, and he loved to sing loud in church, even though it wasn't perfect pitch! HA! He also had some famous sayings that he would always tell us: "I would like to buy you for what you are worth and sell you for what you think you are worth," "A willful waste will bring a woeful want" and "A penny saved is a penny earned." I could go on and on but it doesn't mean near as much to you all as it does to us!
I miss both of my grandparents very much and miss our wonderful family times with them and my family in Kansas. I know both of my grandparents are with Jesus now and someday I will see them again!
Happy Birthday in Heaven Grandpa!
I love you!
Your Granddaughter,
Karen

Misc. IHC shots!

Parker sang at IHC today!

Here are a few pictures I took of Parker today as he sang in the Children's choir here at IHC. They may be a bit blurry as I had to really zoom in on him! You should have seen all the Mom's on the front row with their camera's! He stood by Blake Cassady and they were the second row from the front. We could barely see them!
We have had fun but are quite exhausted as well! The twins have hardly slept! Everyone says, "Some day it will get better!" It has to!!

Look out Dayton, here comes the Walden clan!

We plan on leaving bright and early in the moring for Dayton to attend IHC! Therefore, I will not be posting anything until Friday sometime when we return home! Hope to see some of you at the convention!!

Grumpy kids...

Well, today the twins went for their 15 month check-up and three shots each! Paige weighed 23 pounds 4 ounces and is 31 1/2 inches. She is in the 50% for weight and 75% for height! Peyton weighed 28 pounds 13 ounces and was 33 inches! He is in the 90% for both weight and height! They did great with their shots. Peyton barely even whinned and when he did, it was a delayed reaction! Paige did scream a little but quickly got over it! Peyton on the other hand has been an extreme grump all afternoon even with the Tylenol. That has made it rather difficult with me trying to get things ready to go to IHC! Daddy has school tonight and won't be home until 9pm! Boy, will we all be glad to see him when he gets home! I must go and take advantage of an actual moment without a screaming kid wanting to be held constantly!!! See you in Dayton tomorrow sometime!

Good buddies..

Here are just a couple of pictures of the twins playing together the past two days! They really do like each other! They go tomorrow for their 15 month check-up and shots!! Yea, that should make them nice and grumpy for me!

Daddy's buddy!

Parker loves to help Daddy mow our lawn. He rides on his lap every time! (I can hardly hold him while mowing but Daddy has no problem doing it!) Tonight they had to mow real quick before going to Daddy's first ballgame of the season! Ugh!

I dread the thought of him playing ball again! He tore his Patella tendon in August of 2005 going for a catch! After surgery, 6 weeks off work, therapy and several thousand dollars later he was much better, but will never be the same! Hope he doesn't see his doc out at the ballpark... I am sure he wouldn't recommend it! Parker just told him before they left, "Daddy, if you pop your knee again, I will have to take you to the hospital!" That's probably all too true, I told him I wouldn't go through that ordeal again!!! I just hope he can hit a homerun and can "walk" around all the bases!!! Wishful thinking...

Jonathan's world is "crushed..."

I had to work all day on Saturday so Jonathan was at home with the kids! He had been sitting in his recliner using his "work" laptop computer and had to put it down to go do something with the kids! He laid it on the floor, evidently, too close to his chair and as he leaned forward...YIKES!!! He heard a "Crack!" He must have placed the edge of the computer right under the corner of his chair! Much to his dismay he now has a completely cracked screen and you can only see about the top 1 1/2 inches of it! The computer still works fine but you just can't see a thing! He immediately got on the phone and called it in so he will have a replacement first thing Monday morning. He simply cannot function without a computer!!!!!

Parker and Grandma Sheila...

Just sittin' around...

I was upstairs on the computer and my boys were in the bonus room being unusually good and quiet so I thought I would go investigate! (Paige was asleep downstairs!) Here is what I found! Parker laying on the back of the couch and Peyton sitting on the Thomas the train table!! Where are their manners?! Who taught them to sit like that? For sure not me!

Enjoying lunch with Daddy!

We met Daddy at Steak and Shake today for lunch after Parker got out of pre-school. That is one of Parker's favorite places to eat! The babies are learning to like the french fries too! Daddy has school on Tuesday and Thursday nights and doesn't get home until almost 9pm so we try to have lunch together on those days if we can!!

Parker the Watchdog...

Parker came home from pre-school today and said, "Mrs Malina says I am her watchdog!" After several questions, we found out exactly what he was talking about! It is quite embarassing for us but also funny!!!
Some time ago, Parker picked up from one of his "Goofy" cartoons that he was saying "Gosh" in the movie! We told Parker how that was a very bad word and that Goofy shouldn't say that and we don't ever say that word! We evidently pounded this into his head very well. At his spring parent teacher's conference, we were informed that Parker keeps Mrs. Malina on her toes and gets after her every time she says the word "Gosh!" He tells her, "People aren't supposed to say Gosh!" We were a little embarassed when his teachers were telling us this, we had no idea he had been "correcting" his teacher! She said, she had no idea how much she said it, and he had really been making her "think" when she said things nowdays!
Well, today he said, "Mrs. Malina says I am her watchdog because I told her she said gosh again today..." She told Parker, "Thanks for reminding me Parker, you are my watchdog..."
He has corrected my aunt before and who knows who all else. He doesn't mind one bit to let you know you should't say that very bad word!!!

"Welcome to McDonald's sir"

Posted by Picasa

Parker re-discovered his McDonald's playset from the garage much to my dismay! It has so many small plastic pieces that get all over the house. They have been having a lot of fun with it this week though so I guess I will let it slide!

The picture of Paige is from Sunday evening! She was thrilled with her treasure's from her Easter basket from Great Aunt Vickie! Nothing could have pleased her more!
