"Excuse me?"

Jonathan has been fighting a sinus infection for about 5 weeks now. He has had a terrible cough and this past Friday, finally went to see the doctor! She told him she would give him something really "strong" to knock it for him! He dropped his prescriptions off and we went back later Friday evening to pick them up. As we pulled up to the window, the lady asked him his name, pulled his meds and proceeded to tell him the total. She spoke into the microphone and said, "That will be $123.00 sir, can you tell me your address!" Jonathan's mouth literally dropped open and he was so got... He looked at her and said, "Excuse me?" I was sitting in the passanger seat and said, "Just give her your debit card and tell her your address!" The lady looked at him and again, told him the total! He replied, "Good grief, are they gold plated or something?" I about died laughing at him. He was so shook up over the thought of paying $12.00 per pill that it took him a minute to even think of his address! He thought they didn't get his insurance card, but much to his dismay, they did!!! He complained the whole way home that "if he'd known it was going to cost that much, he wouldn't have even gone to the doctor!" I told him he better swallow every single one of those pills and not waste a drop!

Parker's Party...

What he wanted more than anything...A Derek Jeter jersey!

Parker had a great birthday on Friday. He got lots of Yankees stuff and sports things in general. He was thrilled with all of his gifts and happy to have his family over to share his 6th birthday with him!

Happy 6th Birthday Parker David!!!

It's hard to believe that 6 years ago today, our world changed quickly! I had worked night shift all night at the hospital and was in a patient's room when my water broke. I quickly called my mom, who was in Kansas City taking care of my Grandma Brown, and she began arranging for a flight home. Jonathan had to pack my bags for the hospital as I wasn't prepared to go 12 days early! We couldn't even get ahold of Jonathan's parents as they were on vacation in Michigan. After clocking out and checking in on the birthing center, I was prepared for a looooooonnnnggg day! We were told to expect 12-18 hours of labor! Ugh! Jonathan settled in his easy chair and I quickly knew that I wanted my epidural!!! A very short time later, at 12:39pm, Parker David was born!
We had a lot of learning to do with this little guy and made many memories being up all hours of the night during those first weeks and months. We made a deal that we would give Parker a dollar for every night that he slept all night during his first year! For his first birthday, he got less than $10.00 for that!!! :(
Parker is now in Kindergarten, learning to read, losing his front teeth, and is the joy of our household! I can't imagine what we ever did when he wasn't around. After all, Jonathan and I can be pretty boring when our kids aren't around.
Happy Birthday Parker David! Mommy and Daddy love you SO much! We hope you have a very Happy 6th Birthday today! We are looking forward to celebrating at Texas Roadhouse and having cake and ice cream afterwards!!!

Love,
Mommy, Daddy, Paige and Peyton!

We took Parker to Kansas at 3 weeks old to see his Great-Grandma Brown who was suffering from Pancreatic Cancer. She passed away when he was 6 months old...

Great Grandpa Brown thought Parker was pretty special. He passed away when Parker turned 2 years old...

One of our little sunshines!

This was recorded on our way home from King's Island on Labor Day. Obviously, it was late at night so it is a bit dark. You can still hear Peyton singing his little tune.

Faces of Gene...

I was innocently taking a picture of the entire table and did not notice what Rev. Davis did as I snapped the picture! Can you believe someone as studious as him would do something so rotten? I thought I would also share a picture of Gene during his single years. This was taken from our 1988 church directory! We had a copy of this picture on the table at the reception and Angie snapped it up and took it home for a treasure!
