We went to the pumpkin patch...

...for our annual fall pictures! It was hot today, almost 80 degrees. Last year we were freezing and wiping snotty noses, today we were trying not to zoom in too much so you wouldn't see their red faces from being so hot!!!

We went to the parade this morning and about burned up sitting in the sun. The kids loved it and came home with a bag full of candy. I'll post pictures of the parade later.

In a little while, we are going to be leaving for our Jr Church bonfire and hayride party. I'm hoping the sun goes down soon and it cools off a bit. We're going to burn up roasting hotdogs and marshmallows in this heat!!!

Hope you are enjoying this beautiful fall weekend!

Fall Happenings...

My blog has obviously been neglected over the past few weeks and months. I am keeping up with everyone else's and feeling a bit guilty for being so boring! Tonight I am taking the kids to our school's "Fall Festival" while Jonathan has a ballgame to play! Marvin has promised the kids a hay ride and they are so excited.

Tomorrow we plan to take the kids to a parade here in town and then we are having a Jr Church Bonfire and hay ride tomorrow night! (We'll be sick of hot dogs come Sunday!)

I am getting excited about our hospital getting ready to re-open. Our target date is October 27th!!! I was there yesterday working in our department cleaning equipment and from the looks of it, it doesn't seem possible. I thought to myself..."Oh ME of little faith..." :( I am ready to be back home in familiar surroundings with the gals I know so well. It's been quite a learning experience this summer and I am glad it's almost over! We have a completely remodeled Birthing Center from the ceiling to the floor! You'll have to have a baby and come see it!!! Parker was chosen as "Student of the Month" for October. I know that everyone will get chosen as some point, but it was cute to see his name printed in the school newsletter! He's loving school and leaning to sound out letters and read high-frequency words! I find myself quickly losing my patience with him when he doesn't get it right away! (That's an obvious sign for me that I will never be able to home school my kids!!!)

I'll try to get some fun pumpkin pictures this weekend!
Happy October!

Going to Grandma's...

Three clean kids, all ready to go spend the night with Grandma! (I have to work tomorrow and thought Grandma would prefer getting them tonight instead of at 5:30am!) Hope they all sleep and let Grandma sleep too! ...now if I can go to sleep without them being home, everything will be fine! :(

All Parker wants for Christmas...

...is his two front teeth!!

"Excuse me?"

Jonathan has been fighting a sinus infection for about 5 weeks now. He has had a terrible cough and this past Friday, finally went to see the doctor! She told him she would give him something really "strong" to knock it for him! He dropped his prescriptions off and we went back later Friday evening to pick them up. As we pulled up to the window, the lady asked him his name, pulled his meds and proceeded to tell him the total. She spoke into the microphone and said, "That will be $123.00 sir, can you tell me your address!" Jonathan's mouth literally dropped open and he was so got... He looked at her and said, "Excuse me?" I was sitting in the passanger seat and said, "Just give her your debit card and tell her your address!" The lady looked at him and again, told him the total! He replied, "Good grief, are they gold plated or something?" I about died laughing at him. He was so shook up over the thought of paying $12.00 per pill that it took him a minute to even think of his address! He thought they didn't get his insurance card, but much to his dismay, they did!!! He complained the whole way home that "if he'd known it was going to cost that much, he wouldn't have even gone to the doctor!" I told him he better swallow every single one of those pills and not waste a drop!
